Yes, StopOCD is designed to support different subtypes of OCD, including Contamination OCD, Checking OCD, Harm OCD, Just-Right OCD, and more. No matter how OCD shows up in your life, we’re here to support you every step of the way.

The StopOCD program is rooted in evidence-based treatment and was developed by leading clinicians with deep expertise in OCD and related disorders. Our platform for OCD-spectrum disorders has been trusted by over 6,000 people worldwide.  92% of clients who complete the main modules of our programs would recommend them to others.

CBT is an umbrella term for a number of different approaches to psychotherapy, all dealing with dysfunctional thinking patterns and behaviors and emotional suffering related to them. Several types of CBT have been tested and shown to be effective for OCD, among them Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) that this program is based on.

ERP focuses on gradually facing your feared situations or thoughts without engaging in compulsions, fostering healthier behavioral patterns. ACT teaches a different way of relating to internal, private experiences, helping you develop a healthier approach to your emotions. Together, these interventions target both problematic behaviors and their emotional roots for comprehensive OCD treatment.

Therapists on StopOCD are licensed professionals—psychologists, marriage and family therapists, counselors, and clinical social workers—each with a minimum of 3 years of experience. Every therapist on our platform is an OCD specialist, trained in our proprietary methodology to provide focused, effective care.

You’ll communicate with your therapist through our secure online platform using text and voice messages. You can reach out anytime—no scheduling needed—and have separate discussions on different aspects of your treatment. Your therapist will respond within 24 hours on weekdays.

For many people, yes. StopOCD provides structured, evidence-based treatment guided by an expert therapist, often delivering results similar to specialized in-person therapy. However, every situation is unique—some individuals may still prefer or benefit from face-to-face sessions, either alongside or instead of our program.

For most people, true OCD experts are hard to find locally, and specialized therapy can cost hundreds of dollars per session. That’s why StopOCD is a viable option for expert care.
